Accompanied by her servant Ribete, Leonor travels to Flanders in search of Don Juan, her lover, who has abandoned her. Disguised as a man and assuming the name Leonardo, she sets out to reclaim her honor. This crossing of identities became the starting point for my costume design. I wanted to highlight the elegance of the period while also playing with gender conventions and the tension between what is revealed and what remains hidden. This visual shift was especially important for Leonor.
For the set, I developed a minimalist design that could undergo multiple transformations using only a few elements. The challenge was to create different environments—from the intimate to the political—using the same objects, whose meaning changes through action, lighting, and movement.
The costumes carry both symbolic and historical weight, while the space becomes dynamic, subtly accompanying Leonor throughout her journey.
