In La Gran Semíramis (driven by her thirst for absolute power) awakens a web of passion, secrets, and betrayals that she uses as weapons to challenge the wheel of fortune. This rarely staged gem from the Spanish Golden Age is considered one of the earliest examples of horror in classical theatre and was performed for the first time on an American stage.
I took on the set and costume design with a holistic approach, using recycling as both a creative method and a conceptual foundation. The challenge was to build an entire visual universe out of repurposed materials—exploring their poetry, their past lives, and their transformative power.
