This contemporary adaptation relocated Lope de Vega’s classic from fifteenth-century rural Spain to a modern urban office. Leni Méndez conceived the set, costumes, and props, combining corporate clothing, animal masks, ropes, and symbolic objects to create a contemporary visual language for the play’s themes of tyranny, abuse of power, and collective resistance.
